Steel Sculptures
This steel sculpture was inspired by despair. It is a position of being stuck and not knowing what to do. You are just left hanging out there. I left it untitled because it is a sculpture that evokes many different emotions. When I show this work it is one that people stare at the longest. As it hangs from its stand it has a very subtle movement that is almost hypnotic.
This sculpture was carved from two 1 x 1 inch square rods that are seven feet long. The sculpture is one inch deep (excluding the head) by two inches wide and seven feet tall. The base and chain add another two feet to the height. The long, thin appearance lends itself to a tortured image. This piece should be seen in person as it is so tall and thin that it can not be photographed very well.
